Today, 19 October, marks 65 years since the death of Vere Gordon Childe – an archaeologist who, by applying the Marxist view of history, made enormous leaps forward in our understanding of early human societies and the Neolithic revolution.
12-13 November saw a whole weekend of discussions on Marxist theory and revolutionary strategy, involving more than 120 school and university students, apprentices, and workers from all over Germany, as well as Austria, Switzerland and Great Britain. This was a great success for the German Marxists!

پچھلے چند مہینوں میں کئی ممالک کے مرکزی بینکوں نے افراط زر کو کنٹرول کرنے کے لئے تیزی سے شرح سود میں اضافہ کیا ہے۔ پرسوں فیڈرل ریزرو (امریکی مرکزی بینک) نے شرح سود میں 0.75 فیصد اضافہ کیا اور گزشتہ روز بینک آف انگلینڈ نے بھی اضافہ کر دیا ہے۔ شرح سود میں ہیجانی اضافے نے مارٹگیج شرح (گھر رہن کی شرح) اور حکومتی قرضوں کے حصول کی شرح میں اضافہ جبکہ عالمی کساد بازاری کے خطرات کو تیز تر کر دیا ہے۔ یہ ساری صورتحال عام عوام کے لئے بہت تکلیف دہ ہے لیکن کیا حکمران طبقات اپنے مقاصد حاصل کر سکیں گے؟
