Pakistan Earthquake Update: PTUDC Relief Camp photos

We have received some photos from our relief camps in Kashmir. The photos show of the trucks that travelled with the PTUDC's solidarity caravan, our relief camps, as well as some of the destruction caused by the earthquake.

We have received some photos from our relief camps in Kashmir. As a result of the eartthquake nearly two weeks ago there is still no postal service, no courier services and obviously no internet services. A PTUDC comrade travelled all the way from Kashmir to Lahore to deliver the photos. This shows the tremendous spirit and determination of the comrades in Pakistan in these terrible conditions.

The photos show some of the trucks that travelled with the PTUDC solidarity caravan to Kashmir as well as some of the camps and the destruction caused by the earthquake. The PTUDC has held several meetings in the area, to discuss the work that has to be done as well as the political perspectives in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Comrade Manzoor Ahmed, Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and president of the PTUDC will be travelling to Kashmir again on Tuesday with another solidarity caravan to deliver supplies to the 400 people in our medical and relief camps.

The PTUDC's Earthquake Appeal has been a great success. Over the past week and a half we have been able to raise several thousand pounds to help maintain our camps and to extend our solidarity and relief work. We would again like to thank everyone who donated money for your support and would ask all those who haven't to please donate as much as possible! We will be publishing details of the money raised next week, and hope to raise much more in the future!
